Imoko's mom faked an entire home invasion to hide that she'd been smoking. I'm obsessed. 🚬🖤 📺 Anime: Chainsmoker Cat (ヤニねこ / Yani Neko) ✨ Episode: 9 — Shizue's fake burglary Shizue gets one night with the house to herself and absolutely destroys it. Tea, hidden cookies, and enough cigarettes to turn the entire living room white. She wakes up in a wall of smoke, looks around, and her first thought is that it reminds her of her honeymoon in London. Then Imoko calls to say she's coming home early, because a burglar hit her friend's house. So Shizue does the reasonable thing. She smashes the window, ties herself up on the floor, and tells her daughter a burglar broke in and chain-smoked "like a chimney." And Imoko BELIEVES her. She feels so guilty she promises she'll never spend a night away again, and the episode just puts a card on screen: SHIZUE'S CONSCIENCE TAKES FIVE DAMAGE. That's the whole joke.
